Tuesday Evening Forecast 7-30-13

The ridge is back and so is the heat..
Discussion and Forecast:

Near daily precipitation chances and a return to more seasonable temperatures will
be the primary forecast concerns over the next seven days.

While showers and thunderstorms are not out of the question overnight
the chances are very low.
For the rest of the week into the weekend...a mid level ridge will
remain rooted over the intermountain west...with surface high pressure
holding over the southern rockies. Across Oklahoma and western north Texas...winds will
hold out of the north through Wednesday...with primarily dry
weather expected. Through the end of the week...there is fairly
decent agreement between guidance...with the upper ridge flattening
and surface winds veering out of the south beginning Thursday...that means a very slight
chance of late afternoon and evening thunderstorms each day.

Also with south winds returning through the end of the week...temperatures will
slowly increase back to near normal...with highs in the mid to upper
90s...into the 100s across southern Oklahoma into western north Texas Thursday through
Saturday.
