Vernon College To Receive Grant from Texas Comptrollers Office

The school will receive almost 230-thousand to purchase equipment to train EMTs and paramedics.
Vernon College is one of 11 community colleges and technical schools sharing 3 million dollars in grants from the State Comptroller's Office.
   
The school will receive almost 230-thousand to purchase equipment to train EMTs and paramedics.
   
The grants are for training for jobs that are in big demand, including welders, nurses, petroleum and engineering technicians and EMTs.  It's all part of the Jobs and Education For Texans program that was started in 2009.
