WFISD School Board Prepares for Public Hearing

Parents and WFISD district officials will meet again Tuesday night to discuss the proposed plan to consolidate several Wichita Falls schools.
Parents and WFISD district officials will meet again Tuesday night to discuss the proposed plan to consolidate several Wichita Falls schools.

And 24 hours after that meeting the school board could take action on the proposed plan.

Most of the students from Alamo and Sam Houston will go to the Zundy Junior High site and some will go to Cunningham and Scotland Park elementary schools.

A portion of both attendance zones would be redrawn.

And students and teachers from Zundy Jr. High would go to Barwise.

School board officials say Tuesday night's meeting will be a continuation from the meetings last week.

The school board says after hearing the public's thoughts and concerns they'll be able to move into action.

“We set it up that way. So that everything is fresh in our mind, we have all the material in hand lets just get together and see if we can't make a decision. It we can't we can postpone that is always an option,” said Kevin Goldstein, WFISD School Board President.

The consolidation public meeting will be at Wichita Falls high school Tuesday night from 5:30 to 7 pm.

Wednesday the WFISD school board plan to make their decision during their scheduled meeting at 6 pm in the Education Center Board Room.
