Woman Arrested for Multiple Vehicle Burglaries

Amanda Lopez is charged with theft, fraudulent use of identifying information, and several other charges.
Police say they've solved several recent burglaries after arresting a woman who was trying to sell back stolen property using a stolen ID.

Nineteen-year-old Amanda Lopez is charged with theft over $1500, fraudulent use of identifying information, and several other charges.

According to an arrest affidavit, earlier this month Hasting's employees contacted police when Lopez tried to sell back stolen DVD's using an ID that was not hers.

Officers say Lopez told them she was unable to pay her rent, so she went "car hopping:" walking down various streets in the city, checking car doors, and entering cars that were unlocked.

The affidavit states Lopez admitted to breaking one car window because she could see a purse inside.

Police say there are five known victims of Lopez's theft and the value of the items she took exceeds $2400.

Lopez is jailed on more than $3700 in bonds.
