On the heels of a 2005 decision to move medical training from Sheppard Air Foce Base, the City of Wichita Falls conducted a study to try to diversify and develop the local economy in case more cuts came in the future.
A city-wide project is coming in under budget, so officials are adding to their plans for the Wichita Falls Circle Trail thanks to leftover grant money. The trail is an expansion of the city's Hike and Bike Trail originally built in 1987. The expansion project has been in the works for four years.
Workers continue to make progress on the construction of a paved hike and bike trail that many area residents will have swift access to. Sections that are being worked on now should be complete by the end of the summer.
