Retailers in Wichita Falls are preparing for those who try to get their shopping done right before Christmas.
Amy Davis, manager at Academy Sports in Wichita Falls said, “It is going to be heavy traffic with the shoppers. It is two more days before Christmas, I think with Thanksgiving being so late too in the month and then also with the bad weather a few weeks ago, everyone is in panic mode.”
The combination of the bad weather of a late start to the holiday shopping season due to a late Thanksgiving this year has put retailers in a difficult, but familiar situation.
“Its normal for Christmas you see it every year. Definitely the last few days, family coming into town or people going out of town, getting the last minute presents.”
Shoppers are encouraged to come in early, especially if you plan on making multiple stops on your shopping spree, but workers at Texoma stores say they'll be prepared to help.
“We hope to be able to find what you are looking for and get you guys in and out so you guys can go to your next destination.”
