Carney spent several years of her childhood moving around the East and North Texas areas until her family settled in Denton, Texas in 2006.
In the fall of 2014, she began her college career at Oklahoma State University. After changing her major a few times, she finally discovered her passion for broadcasting when she became a multimedia journalist student.
Carney gained experienced working as a producer, reporter, and anchor for her college’s student-run newscast The Daily O. She also created an entertainment segment called “What’s trending” where viewers learned about the latest in film, television, music, and celebrity news. The Daily O has continued with the segment even after she graduated, which she calls her greatest accomplishment in her college career.
She graduated with a B.A. in Multimedia Journalism in December 2020 and a few months later moved to Wichita Falls to begin her journalism career at KFDX.
Her top priority is to make sure she brings relevant, accurate, and important information to community members, so they stay up-to-date and remain in the know at all times.
In her free time, you can find Carney spending time with friends and family, catching up on all her favorite shows or out looking for the next best deal at a variety of retail stores.
She is excited to spend each day learning more about the Texoma area and the people who call it home.
