
Darrell Franklin is a Texoma native who says he’s proud to co-anchor KFDX 3 News @ 5, 6 and 10 as well as Fox, Texoma’s News @ 9 on KJTL.
Darrell became a part of the KFDX family in February 1992 when he was hired as a studio camera operator. A year later, Darrell was directing weekend newscasts. Darrell began reporting and later producing when he moved from production to the newsroom in January 1994. Then, during the summer of ’96, he began anchoring and producing weekend newscasts. Darrell continued to do that and report on stories from around the region until October 2005 when he moved over to anchor Fox, Texoma’s News @ 9 on KJTL. He began anchoring KFDX 3 News @ 10 full time in January 2012, and then also KFDX 3 News @ 5 and 6 in March 2018.
Darrell earned his B.A. in Mass Communication at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, and grew up in Iowa Park. He graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1988. His interests while growing up included band, jazz band (trumpet), and tennis. Darrell and his wife, Kelly, have three children: Connor, Kamryn, and Collin. In his time off, Darrell enjoys his family, current and classic movies, grilling and barbecuing, and watching the Dallas Cowboys while spending time with friends.
