Gwyn Bevel loves her job as the Evening Anchor and Assistant News Director on the KFDX team. Gwyn is thankful since 2005 Texoma has been her home, where she lives with her husband Michael and their boxer Chase.
Gwyn is a native Texan who knew from an early age news was where she belonged. KFDX was her first job and when she started as a reporter she covered city government. She says her Mom is her biggest fan and credits her Father’s involvement in city government for her love of local politics. She currently anchors the 5pm and 6pm with Doug Bilyeu. You can also catch her at 10pm with Darrell Franklin.
Gwyn says as a journalist you have to be passionate about your work and more importantly dedicated to helping others. Whether its a story that could make someone’s life better or you have a need for another volunteer, Gwyn is just a call away. Gwyn serves on the Wichita Adult Literacy Council board, North Texas Area United Way board and the Adopt a Box Committee. She is also a member of the Young Professionals. She is a member of the 20 Under 40 and was selected as Texoma’s Best TV Personality in 2015.
Gwyn is a proud Saluki and when she graduated from Southern Illinois University she was named one of the 25 Most Distinguished Seniors. She worked all four years, while at Southern, for WSIU TV.
