Diabetics will soon have a cheaper option for needed insulin.
Pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly has announced that it will soon offer a generic version of its top-selling insulin at half the price.
It will be called Insulin Lispro and will be sold for $137 per vial, and a five pack of Kwikpens will be $265.
The company will still sell the name brand product, Humalog, which costs about $275 per vial.
There is no word on when the cheaper insulin will be available on the market, but the company says it is working to make sure it will be available as quickly as possible.
