A Petrolia couple who have helped many foster children were honored with the Patsy Baggett award today.
Pat and Syvilla Stacy have been foster parents since 2007 and have opened their home to over 90 children.
The two have donated countless amount of hours assisting with the Heart Gallery and Child Abuse Prevention Month activities, as well.
In addition, Pat serves as the president of the local Foster Parent Association.
“About 8 years ago, we wanted to adopt a little girl,” said Pat Stacy. “When we discovered our first week in foster care that there was over 100 foster homes and there is still 90 kids looking for homes we couldn’t turn our back from that.”
“We’re just grateful that we can give them a loving home and give them that loving touch that most of the time they haven’t had before,” Syvilla Stacy said.
The Stacy’s have two biological children, an adopted son and are in the process of adopting another child.
