In Archer County, we have numbers for the 97th District Attorney, which also includes Clay and Montague Counties.
Incumbent District Attorney Paige Williams was challenged by one of her former assistants, Casey Polhemus, who is now in private practice.
It came down to just over 300 voters, and Polhemus will be the next District Attorney.
“I felt like their were cases that were mishandled by the District Attorney’s office over the last three years that there were violent offenders who should have been tried who were put on probation. I didn’t agree with those decisions, so I decided to step up and run,” Polhemus said.
The 97th District has seen numerous high profile crimes in recent years.
Williams had this to say about her one term in office:
“I am very proud of the integrity with which I ran this campaign and I was proud of my service to the communities,” Williams said.
There is no democratic challenger in this race.
