By the beginning of September, there will be more space for pups over at the Wichita Falls Animal Services Center.
The center is getting a new wing that will include 18 new dog kennels — as part of their adoption program, according to administrator, Katrena Mitchell.
The shelter will be able to house more animals and in turn, that extra space will help save more lives because fewer dogs will be euthanized.
Currently, crews are bricking the exterior this week and later putting in windows and doors.
While work inside includes installation of air-conditioning and the kennels.
It is expected to be complete the first week of September.
