A lot has been going on inside of Big Blue over the last few years, from high tech companies to art galleries and many other ventures moving in.
Now, the building owner Will Kelty says he is looking forward to signing his biggest tenant yet.
“We’re in final discussions with a large organization that is looking to move to downtown and Big Blue specifically,” said Kelty.
Kelty said the move will have a ripple effect.
“It’s a big win for Big Blue in terms of Big Blue’s come back. But it’s bigger news for the general population of downtown because if this organization does choose to move here then that’s gonna impact all the businesses downtown,” Kelty said.
Property manager Judy Kurani said it could also encourage others to set up shop in the heart of the city.
“I think it’ll bring some new business in, shops as well. New opportunities for people who are thinking about doing business downtown to maybe make that step forward,” Kurani said.
Kelty said even though they just started offering space for rent in the fall of last year. He’s been impressed with the amount of interest he’s seen since.
“Since then, really since the beginning part of this year, we’ve started to have a lot more activity in terms of leasing a lot of new tenants coming in,” said Kelty.
Kelty said once the ink dries on the contract for the latest and possibly largest tenant yet to join the many others already doing business out of Big Blue. The skies the limit to see what else happens at the iconic building.
