Another crowded room over at the Courtyard Marriott where folks who are involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters gathered following bring your little to work day.
The nonprofit pairs children with mentors in the community. Today, ‘bigs’ took their ‘littles’ to work to show them the importance of education and to discuss the importance of setting goals.
“I just think that the way that the world is we are all searching for something we need leadership and it starts with really good leaders and we really need the connection and the love,” keynote speaker, Dawn Thompson said. “We all crave love and connection and so it’s really nice to share this message of you’re enough, you’re creative enough to do whatever you want to do and to be there for them help whatever it is they’re going through.”
If you would like to mentor a child Big Brothers Big Sisters is always looking for more ‘bigs’.
