Clinic Offering Free Feral Cat Spay & Neuter Services

News

The Wichita Falls P.E.T.S. Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic will host the first ‘Falls Feline Fix’ event from 8-9 a.m. on Saturday.

Texomans can bring in feral and free-roaming cats to be sterilized, vaccinated for rabies and ear-notched for free.

The clinic recommended to use precaution and gloves when trapping a feral cat, but they said you can use a crate for friendlier, free roaming cats.

There must be only one cat per crate.

“We usually have traps, but now we’re are out in lieu of the feral cat thing coming Saturday,” P.E.T.S. Executive Director, Leslie Harrelson, said. “But animal services still has some traps and they rent them for $25 and you get it back when you return the trap.”

The clinic also said the cat has to be kept in a climate controlled area in their crates for 24 hours after their surgery. All other services are at the individual’s expense.
