Couple Use Air Duct to Burglarize Store

News

Two people are behind bars for burglary today after police said they found a man crawling out of the air ducts of a closed convenience store.

Officers arrested 40-year old James Throneberry and 19-year old Chelcee Wiest at the old Lucky’s One Stop in the 1100 block of Scott Avenue.

Wednesday afternoon just before 1:45 police were questioning Wiest who was sitting in a car behind the building.

Officers say while they were talking to her they heard loud banging coming from the building.

Officials say they then saw  boxes full of beer  being pushed  out of the air duct.

They told the person to come out but he crawled back  inside.

Officers then crawled through the air ducts and found and arrested Throneberry.

Throneberry’s criminal record dates back to 2001, including burglary of a coin operating machine in Abilene.

In 2014, he was charged with theft in Wichita Falls.
