Florence remains Category 4 hurricane; potential change for impact on Central Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — As of this 8 a.m, Tuesday, Hurricane Florence is a Category 4 hurricane with winds at 130 mph and it’s moving to the West Northwest at 15 mph. 

This trend is expected to continue today with more strengthening throughout the day. Hurricane Florence will roll toward the North Carolina coastline during the day on Wednesday and it should make landfall by Thursday evening near Emerald Isle, North Carolina.

When it makes landfall, it’s projected to be a Category 4 hurricane with winds around 130 miles per hour. This would be a catastrophic storm making landfall.
