Investigators are still trying to determine what caused a three-alarm fire Friday evening off Iowa Park Road.

It happened at an auto shop near Hirschi Lane.

40 firefighters responded to the call, which came in just before 5:15 p.m.

Before they could get the flames under control, the shop was fully engulfed in flames, as were several vehicles inside.

Batallion Chief Randy Reel said part of Iowa Park Road had to be shut down, and there was real concern a home nearby was going to catch fire.

Only the owner of the shop was there at the time, and there were no major injuries.

The amount of damage is estimated to be between $400,000 and $500,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
