The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture is hosting New Arts Six: A Joyful Noise on Friday, March 8, in honor of Women’s History Month.

Founded in 1981 by six classically trained African American women who saw a need to preserve and perform the ethnic folk music, poetry, and literature of African Americans, New Arts Six is a performing arts ensemble on a mission to keep the tradition of the ‘spiritual’ alive.

A Joyful Noise,” conceived by Jubilee Theatre’s founder and artistic director the late Rudy Eastman, celebrates the poignant, whimsical poetry of Paul Laurence Dunbar.

Tickets for the performance at First Presbyterian Church are $8 for students and $20 for adults.

Tickets can also be purchased at The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture offices located at 1005 9th Street, Suite 102 in Downtown Wichita Falls Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
