Kemp passes third round of Scripp’s National Spelling Bee

Good news from today’s National Spelling Bee competition.

Barwise Middle School 6th grader Ben Kemp could be headed to the finals, and he did so by spelling the word “glaucoma” correctly during round three of the competition.

Now from here—officials with the Scripps Spelling Bee will narrow it down to no more than 50, based on the scores from the written tests spellers took Tuesday morning.

We are still waiting to see if Ben made it to the finals—  so we’ll pass that along when we get it!
