The guided snake hunts start Friday and will go until Sunday.

Thrill shows with James White and the Outlaw Handlers will be going on throughout the weekend as well along with a safety lecture where they will show things like the striking range of a snake and the strength of a snake.

“It’s a big help. A lot of boy scouts go camping, so in the sleeping bag situation we show them how to get out safely if a snake does crawl in the sleeping bag with you while you are asleep,” Benton White with

James White and the Outlaw Handlers said. “Most people are more scared of a snake, but it’s the other way around. The snake wants to get away from you the whole time.”

All of the proceeds benefit the Waurika Volunteer Fire Department.
