It is time again for the Holy City of the Wichitas’ annual Easter pageant.
This is the 94th year of the “Prince of Peace” pageant which takes place outdoors with a live performance that tells the story of Jesus from birth through resurrection.
The first showing was scheduled for last Saturday, but due to bad weather conditions, it was canceled.
This was just the third time in 94 years and that’s what makes Saturday’s showing even more anticipated.
“It’s really important that we do have a good turn out Saturday because we do run off of donations alone,” Holy City caretaker Deena Dolch said. “Without the people’s generous help we wouldn’t be here and we want to continue off for the future generations.”
Thousands of people show up each year for this event.
Live music and tours begin at noon but the pageant kicks-off at 8:30 p.m.
The pageant is free, but donations are welcomed.
