About 200 Oncor workers head to East coast for hurricane aid

Some local groups are heading out to North Carolina to assist with the aftermath of the tropical storm making way up the east coast.

Oncor sent a crew on a line service truck early Thursday morning to stage with other crews in Nashville until the storm moved through then they are headed to Raleigh, North Carolina.

About 200 Oncor employees and contractors from Texas are going to help with power restorations.

The American Red Cross of North Texas members that cover the majority of Texas were sent to the east coast along with seven emergency response vehicles.

Service Master will take multiple trucks including a water extraction truck for flooded homes.     

They say they will leave between 5—6 a.m. Saturday morning and will stay as long as they are needed.
