A mother and step-father are in two separate Texoma jails as a little Archer City boy continues to recover from extensive and traumatic injuries.
32-year-old John Sifferd was arrested on Tuesday in Archer City then on Wednesday, 22-year-old Kristina Sifferd was arrested in Lawton by the Lawton PD.
Archer County Chief Deputy, Simon Dwyer says on the evening of April 5th the 11-month-old boy was taken to United Regional before being flown to Oklahoma University Children’s Hospital.
Dwyer says the boy had a broken neck, multiple broken ribs, a broken shoulder blade, and injuries to his abdominal area including intestines. Dwyer says because of trauma to his mouth that went untreated including three missing teeth, the boy went into shock and that’s when his mother and step-father took him to the hospital.
Dwyer says the injuries were in different stages of healing and the Sifferds are trying to claim he somehow hurt himself.
John Sifferd is in the Archer County jail and Kristina Sifferd is in the Comanche County jail as authorities work on extradition. Both are charged with injury to a child and endangering a child. Bonds for each are set at $525 thousand dollars.
