Art & Soul Hits Downtown Tomorrow

Local News
Modeled after Austin’s Pecan Street Festival, Wichita Falls is kicking off its first Art & Soul Festival tomorrow.

Dozens of artists specializing in painting, ceramics, and even glass-making will be along Indiana Avenue, between 9th and 10th Streets. While a chalk art section will be available for the little ones to play in organizers said this is mainly for adults.

Craft beer, wine, and food from Queen B Cajun, Red River hotdogs, and Gypsy Kit will be there, all for a great cause so many Texomans can appreciate.

“Our mission for our organization is not only bring people Downtown, but to preserve and restore our history down here,” Jeanette VanDonge, assistant director Downtown Development said. “The proceeds of this festival will go towards our Zales Building and help with the preservation of that.”

The Art & Soul Festival is set to start at 4 p.m. and tickets cost $5. Organizers ask that you park in the library’s parking lot.
