Wichita Falls theater giant Lynn Marshall died in early January from a heart attack and now he is being honored near where he worked with his true passion — the theater.

Downtown Wichita Falls Development will honor Marshall’s contributions to the communities through a bench dedication.

The dedication is Thursday, Sept. 13 from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the northeast corner of 10th Street and Indiana Avenue near the Wichita Theatre.

Marshall also worked at KFDX beginning in the mid-1980s. He performed a variety of functions from anchoring newscasts to reporting to heading promotions. He left to pursue other interests around 1990 but returned a few years later to serve as news director. Lynn then left and was able to devote much more time to his great love of the theater.

Lynn produced and directed many productions at the Wichita Theatre like Grease in 2009 and Hairspray in 2011.

Lynn also lent his distinctive voice to many narrations.
