Montague county residents may no longer have to worry about Bowie ambulance services not responding to calls outside city limits.
In its executive session the council announced its plan to rescind the letter to Montague County Commissioners that announced it was going to do away with the EMS service out in the county.
The council’s decision came at the very end of the meeting just before adjourning.
Former mayor Larry Slack was responsible for writing the letter to Montague Commissioners. That letter was met with very strong push back from county and even some city residents.
Slack resigned May 8th.
Also at tonight’s meeting was the first of two readings for controversial water and sewer rate increases. It passed tonight’s reading by the council.
