The Bowie Municipal Court office has been moved to City Hall after the judge was assaulted last week.

Police Chief Guy Green says Municipal Judge Darla Cordell was assaulted last week outside her office by a man armed with a sharp object.

Green says the case is under investigation by a Texas Ranger so he could not give more details or any possible motive in the attack.

He says the man involved has not been arrested or charged at this point.

The injury was reported to be minor.

The man confronted Cordell outside her office on Walnut late Wednesday afternoon.

The judge and her clerk have now moved into City Hall as security issues are explored.
