A Burkburnet woman accused of embezzling from the landscaping company she worked for has a new court date set after a brief appearance before the 89th District Judge today.

Katherine Michelle Urioste who also goes by Michelle Hale has numerous charges including  fraudulent use of identification  items, forgery of an elderly person, theft over $20,000 and other fraud and forgery charges. She has a new court appearance now set for October when prosecutors will argue on a motion to revoke her probation for previous thefts.

The 48-year-old was arrested last year after police say the owner of  Spires Landscaping  reported his secretary/business manager opened a credit card in the business’ name. An investigator for Citibank found that card was mailed to Urioste’s home address in Burkburnett and, the card had a balance due of  almost $14-thousand dollars.

This isn’t the first time Urioste  is facing these type of charges. She was placed on probation in 2012 for embezzling funds from Starline Pools where she was the business manager. The owner said an audit showed  more than $400,000 was stolen. And, a man who bought the company in 2008 told police he suspected Urioste stole more than $13,000 from him after he gave her signed blank checks.
