Byers man jailed after allegedly holding his girlfriend against her will

Local News

A Byers man is jailed in the Clay County Jail on a $100,000 bond for allegedly holding his girlfriend against her will and hitting and stabbing her before she was able to run from the house with no clothes or shoes on.

32-year-old Nolan Kerry is charged with aggravated assault of a date or family member with a weapon.

According to the arrest affidavit,  a man on Byers Road called the sheriff’s office just before 5 p.m. last Wednesday and said a woman had come to his home without any shoes and barely any clothes on and said Kerry was trying to kill her. She told him she had run from the house without shoes while putting clothes on as she ran to the nearest house for help.

Deputies say the woman had a black eye, possible broken nose, a stab wound in the leg and a bite injury to a toe. The woman told them Kerry had kept her nude in their bed three days and refused to let her leave, and told her she belonged to him and the only way she was leaving was if she was dead. She said he then grabbed a knife and stabbed her in the leg.  She said Kerry bit one of her toes during the struggle with the knife.  She also had a wound on the side of her head from a mason jar she said Kerry threw at her.
