One man is facing a slew of charges, after Wichita Falls Police say he didn’t have a light on his bicycle.
According to an arrest affidavit Reginald Cortez Cage was stopped on Scott Avenue.
Police say he agreed to a search and police say they found a “Slime” bike tire repair container in his pants pocket and it had a crystal like substance in a plastic baggy inside.
The arresting officer says he put the container on the hood of his car and started to put Cage in handcuffs, but he says Cage shoved him, then grabbed the container and took off running.
The affidavit states while the officer was chasing Cage he put the “Slime” container to his mouth and he said he tore the bag using his teeth.
The officer says he then tried to tase Cage, which he says didn’t even phase him.
They say Cage then continued to run, before stopping and turning to face the officer.
But the affidavit states he still refused to get on the ground, so the officer says he struck him one time with the baton and Cage still refused to comply so he finally used his pepper spray.
Then another officer showed up and the two were able to put Cage in handcuffs.
Cage is charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, tampering with or fabricating evidence, resisting arrest, evading arrest and assault on a public servant.
He is jailed on nearly $40,000 in bonds.
