Castaway Cove Waterpark representatives say this season was another successful one.

The numbers brought before Wichita Falls City Council Tuesday morning showed over 10,000 people came through the doors at Castaway Cove, forecasting a net cash profit of more than $143,000, compared to more than $32,000 last year.

Park manager Steve Vaughn said this year’s increase was due to several new programs, including season payment plans, reduced weekday pricing and keeping the park open until 11 p.m.

He explained where some of those ideas came from.

“We walk around. We talk to our guests to see what they’re looking at. And we take their ideas and this time of year, we get together and make plans for the next year,” said Vaughn.

Vaughn said they also take surveys and rely on the park’s Facebook page for feedback. He said one of the new ideas involves a new attraction, which he says they will be planning for in the future.
