City councilors will hold a public hearing Tuesday morning to rezone the former Alamo Elementary School.

The owner of the old school building on 11th Street is making the request in hopes to facilitate both multi-family and commercial use of the land.

The property served as Alamo Elementary since 1919 until it was closed by Wichita Falls ISD in 2014.

The current owner, Richard Graham, purchased the property from the district last year and is looking to add 43 luxury apartment units similar to Austin lofts on 13th and Broad Street.

City councilors will meet tomorrow at 8:30 at Memorial Auditorium on 7th Street.
