One day after the Wichita Falls mayor discusses adopting a code of conduct for city councilors, he is now suggesting a social media change for city employees.

Stephen Santellana said employees like himself, city councilors and others, could be assigned official social media accounts. This would provide the city the ability to monitor all communication between employees and citizens and hold employees accountable for any inappropriate behavior. The idea was discussed during the city’s strategic planning meeting and Mayor Santellana says it could be included in the potential code of conduct and that could include enacting a dress code.

District Five City Councilor Steve Jackson believes the way he dresses at city council meetings is the reason the mayor is considering adopting a code of conduct for councilors.
