Construction is underway at City View High School after the passing of a $10 million school bond in May.
Phase one of the project is making the library the band hall and the band hall the library. This project is expected to be complete four days before school starts on August 19, 2019, and will give a lot more room to a band that is really in need of the room. Superintendent Tony Bushong said there is a lot of excitement for this work to be complete.
“People are ready to see the changes,” Bushong said. “You want to snap your fingers and everything be done, but it is a process when you are putting new lights in, running electrical line, and putting new air conditioning units in.”
The next phase won’t begin until late September or early October. That phase will include adding five, six grade classrooms and construction on a new field house. Bushong is hopeful that will be finished before the 2020-2021 school year.
