It’s a week recognizing those who make a difference in the lives of so many; but not just in Texoma, but throughout our nation as well.
Aug. 12 through the Aug. 18 is designated National Health Center Week. It’s all in an effort to raise awareness about the achievement of America’s health centers for the last 50 years. That includes the Community Healthcare Center in Wichita Falls, which serves about 20,000 patients annually.
Allen Patterson, CEO of Community Healthcare Center said its also expanding, continuing to provide quality healthcare to so many regardless of how economic status.
“Anybody can come here. There’s things about health centers that allow us to provide population-based, vetted evidence-based healthcare,” said Patterson. When you do it in a large system like we are, you’re able to do it in a much more cost-effective manner.”
That expansion includes two new locations: one at Zundy Elementary and the Wichita Falls campus of Vernon College. Both are expected to open in 2019.
