Community turns support for ‘Mackenzie Strong’ benefit

Local News

Friends and family gathered around an Iowa Park native Sunday afternoon as she battles chronic myeloid leukemia.

Mackenzie Kellog is in her second month of treatment at Medical City Dallas. She’s also being treated for pneumonia and infection from her chemo port.

Kellog’s supporters gathered at Texas Nite Life to raise money and awareness something one says Kellogg and her family deserves.

“She’s a tremendous person and trying to give back as much as you can to help out the family to try and relive the stress off of them and to try to give back as much as you can so that they don’t have to worry about that,” former co-worker to Kellogg Billy Koetter said.

Kellogg was diagnosed after she taken to the ER after a bruise on her leg abscessed. She currently has no medical insurance.
