Thirteenth District Congressman Mac Thornberry is meeting with his constituents over the next few days while in the North Texas area.
Earlier Thursday morning he was at Harvest Drug and Gift in Wichita Falls, meeting with several local businesses and discussing how different government regulations impact the way they operate.
Business leaders there included pharmacists, restaurant owners and individuals from the oil industry. Recently, Republicans in the House of Representatives passed the Regulatory Accountability Act which works to reform areas of regulation.
“First it will make sure that the big regulations that affect the economy more than 100 million dollars will not be imposed on the country without congress’s approval. We’ve gotten to where more and more of the things that affect our lives are by bureaucracies that congress or the people’s elected representatives never have any say so on. So we ought to make it harder to do that,” Rep. Mac Thornberry, 13th District Congressman.
Congressman Thornberry said President Donald Trump and his administration are working on reigning in regulations as well.
