Cotton Co. Sheriff out of the hospital after accident

Local News

West of Duncan, officials with the Cotton County Sheriff’s Office are happy to report that the sheriff is out of the hospital after getting in a serious accident on Christmas Eve.

Authorities say Kent Simpson was called to assist the Walters Police Department with a chase when he lost control of his patrol car in gravel and then hit a tree.

OHP authorities say the 59-year-old suffered injuries to his head, arm, and leg.

Sheriff Simpson had surgery Monday at an Oklahoma City medical center, but Cotton County officials said he is in good spirits, spending Christmas day recovering with family at home.
