A Wichita Falls couple was arrested after police said they stole a riding lawnmower from a woman’s garden.
45-year-old Julio Cesar Garcia and 42-year-old Jizella Gisela Garcia are both charged with burglary of a building.
Wichita Falls police said a resident in the 300 block of Taylor reported the locked storage building was broken into and her Ariens Zero turn riding lawnmower was taken.
While at the home, officials said one of the woman’s neighbors came over and told them he saw three people loading the lawnmower into an old yellow Dodge pickup truck when the victim heard the description of the suspects and the truck, she told officers the suspects were the Garcias, who she helped in the past with money.
Police located the Garcias at Holliday road and Galveston and interviewed them each separately.
Jizella Gisela said she knew the lawnmower was being stolen, but Julio said he was just helping and he never got any money for it.
Police located the stolen lawnmower on yale avenue and the resident said he paid Julio $200 for it.
Police then arrested both Garcias and charged them for burglary.
