A woman is left with non-life threatening injuries after crashing her vehicle into Gilbert Creek.

Burkburnett and Wichita County first responders were called to a one-vehicle accident shortly after 6:30 Sunday evening.

Officers say a white SUV was traveling southbound on I-44 when witnesses say the driver lost control, hit a guard rail and ended up submerged in Gilbert Creek.

Luckily, people were nearby to help pull the driver out of the vehicle.

One woman was transported to United Regional with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been a contributing factor in the accident.
