Drug sweep lands more than 15 in Young County Jail

Twenty-one people are sitting in the Young County jail following a major methamphetamine distribution investigation.

The Young County Sherriff says he’s proud to have meth off the streets here in Graham following an investigation that’s been going on for quite some time now.

Sheriff Travis Babcock admits there is a bad drug problem in Young County but he believes things are getting better. He says his deputies have been able to stop production within Young County but drugs are still coming in and that’s what they are trying to stop and his office is not working alone. 

Babcock says the Graham Police Department, DPS and the DA’s office all work together to get drugs off the street. Sheriff Babcock says they are slowly cracking down on the drug issues in Young County and making people very aware that they are not putting up with it anymore.Their bonds are set at 100-thousand dollars each. and all charged with engaging in criminal activity
