An Electra man is jailed after police said he purposely ran over his wife’s father, and his wife was in the van with him at the time.

Mister Williams, 23, is charged with aggravated assault.

Wichita Falls police said on March 10 a pedestrian was struck by a minivan at Avenue K and Kessler Avenue, and the driver left the scene.

Witnesses said it looked like the driver intentionally ran over the man, who was treated at the emergency room.

The victim told police his daughter drove a vehicle that matched the one that hit him.

That same day police found the van which had recent damage.

Authorities also had surveillance video from a nearby store which showed the van appear to swerve toward the victim to hit him, then left at a high rate of speed.

Police say the man’s daughter admitted being in the van and that the driver was her husband, Mister Williams.

Police say Williams admitted driving the van and hitting the victim, then leaving the scene.
