Electra woman charged after allegedly hitting a child with a fist and shoe

A 32-year-old Electra woman was jailed after a 10-year-old child allegedly suffers injuries caused by a fist and shoe.

Keshia Ranae Nava was booked into jail on a $10,000 bond on a charge of injury to a child with bodily injury.

Electra police got a report of a child with facial injuries in the 500 block of West Roosevelt Sunday evening.

Officers said the child reported being struck by Nava in the head with her fist, then she took off her shoe and hit the child in the mouth.

Officers said they found red marks and a cut that was bleeding and also a busted lip that was bleeding.

Officers then went to Nava’s home to question her, and say she admitted striking the child in the head.
