Experts: gasoline not running out, but supply disrupted

Local News

Gas lines are growing in the Wichita Falls area as fears grow as well of a gas shortage due to the affects of Hurricane Harvey over the Labor Day weekend.

Rick Byers, manager of Kelly Propane and Fuel, says the problem is the Alon refinery in Big Spring is down and because of that his tank trucks are having to go to Oklahoma City or Ardmore to fill up. Once they get there they are behind at least 25 trucks doing the same thing.  He says it’s causing a delay, for sure.

However, Texas Railroad Commissioner Ryan Sitton said today consumers are putting undue demand on gas as well.  He says there is plenty of gasoline in Texas and this will subside soon.
