Facebook post leads to arrest of burglary suspect

Local News

Wichita Falls Police Officers posed as buyers responding to a Facebook post and recovered more than 40 stolen items taken from a house on Speedway Avenue.

37-year-old Latisha Kempf is charged with burglary of a building.

Police say the owner of an unoccupied home in the 3100 block of Speedway reported the burglary and found a Facebook post listing several of the items for sale.

Police contacted the poster and set up a time to come look at the items. Undercover officers went to a storage building next to a home in the 2500 block of Carrigan Avenue and purchased a drill press listed as stolen.

Police then obtained a search warrant and returned, and again found Kempf in the building.

Police say they recovered 44 items stolen from the home on Speedway, and while others were involved in the thefts, Kempf also was aware stolen items were being stored on her property.
