Saturday, May 4, is the first home game of the new soccer team Falls Town Flyers.
They are playing their first home game against FC Lubbock at Kay Yeager Coliseum at 6 p.m. and the Wichita Falls Faith Mission has been chosen as the first non-profit of the night for this game.
Wichita Falls Faith Mission has served homeless adults and children in the community for over 60 years. From serving meals, providing emergency shelter, giving vouchers for clothing and household items, to offering individualized case management all services and programs are provided to clients at no cost to help them get back on their feet.
Josh Peloquin, one of the players on the team, briefly stayed at Faith Mission with his family as a child.
Wichita Falls Faith Mission serves several like Josh’s family in the North Texas area. Last year was the first time in the organization’s history that more services went toward women and children than men. With the increase of families being served by Wichita Falls Faith Mission, a full-time case manager was hired just a little over two years ago which has helped better serve families in their care.
If you use the code FAITHFC online or at the ticket office, half of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit our two homeless shelters, Faith Refuge, and Faith Mission. Tickets are available at the box office and online.
