The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Monday in Lawton.
According to investigators, Lawton police were called to a domestic disturbance involving a 19-year-old male and his mother.
Before officers arrived, the male suspect left the home with two assault rifles and a handgun, according to OSBI.
Officials said the 19-year-old then drove to Northwest Maple Avenue where three officers discharged their weapons during an encounter with the suspect. He died during the exchange.
The officers involved are now on paid administrative leave.
The OSBI investigation is ongoing. Once it is complete, a report will be written and submitted to the District Attorney’s office for review.
