WICHITA FALLS - A project that has been in the works for some time was finally completed today with a ribbon cutting.
The new playground at Hamilton Park is the first new park built in town in more than five years, and this one took about five years of fundraising. Those with the Medical Alliance who have been working on the project for years are happy to see it completed.
"It's very nice," Wichita Falls Medical Alliance member Sorin Pojoga said. "We are very happy this is done."
Because so much time and energy has been spent on the project, Medical Alliance member Ania Hilmi said she is excited to have it completed.
"It's a relief, and it's wonderful. Seeing the families out here playing and utilizing the park for what it is meant to be used for," Hilmi said. "I'm full of pride about it. This is like my fourth child, so I love it."
They also said they have already started making plans for the next project, but they are not ready to share what that project will be just yet.
